Christian Lamm_Photographer 1 & 2

 Larry Fink

An American photographer who was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1941. His work is in black and white, and the main thing that drew me to his work is the focused, gritty nature of his photographs. I like comparison style commentary photography, and I also value personal family photographs which is why I included these two works of his.

His most famous work, Social Graces, contrasts the rich of Manhattan at parties and fancy events, with the working class of Pennsylvania.

Another work of his I enjoy is his Kindred Spirits series. These photos show a farming family in a visceral, raw, and intimate way.

Chloe Meynier is a French-born photographer, based in Los Angeles, CA. Her work mostly deals with women's roles, societal norms, equality, and gender identity.

Although I do of course value these things, it was just simply her beautiful, dreamlike compositions from her Wait Until Dark series that caught my eye at first. Looking more deeply into this work, I can start to understand some of the things she is portraying.

More direct examples of her values can be found in works like Made in the Shade or Gendernormativity
