Nicholas Clark_Artist 13&14

    Sam Cannon is an artist who lives in NYC. She does photography and video, but some of her work is turned into gifs. She is using gifs of models walking the runways and she uses them to display the clothing they have on.

     Aklo is a videographer who also makes gifs. He mainly shoots and directs music videos. Many of the gifs he makes come from the same shoots. I found the gifs he made for brands interesting. Most of the movement he captures looks natural and it looks like the models did not know he was going to make a gif out of it.

Sid J Blog 5&6

I chose to show a clip from "Real Stories". Real Stories is a UK based show made in 2015. I am researching what style I should shoot to do my video on my skin condition. I found medical documentaries that are close to what I want to do. I would like to add some observational film styles as well.

 The first artist I chose was Geoff Zanelli. He used clay animation to create a love story. Although it may not have been long it was long enough to tell a story on how you can be so in love with a person that you're willing to wait for them because you love them so much.

The second artist I chose was Nora Ephron. This video is an exert from"when Harry met Sally." These older couples talk about how they first met and what they thought when they first met. It was beautiful to see how in love these couples were and how much the younger generation should learn from them to be able to keep the love going and long lasting like these ones.

 The first artist I chose was PUUUNG. They focused on the little things in life that deserve to be highlighted on when it comes to a relationship. In relationships some people believe that it is all about the expensive clothes, cars, presents, and etc. But to some all that matters are the simple gestures like going out to eat, cooking dinner, watching a movie, napping together, or even fixing things around the house. The little things matter and keep the bond between the relationship even stronger.

The second artist I chose was Annina Roeschesien "What Are You Fishing For?"  she shared melancholy, orchestrated coldness, truth without a mask, the artist  plunges into the heart of the union between a man and a woman In a cinematic narrative, the mental landscape which is the synthesis of the artist's physical and symbolic inner sanctum projects a combination. of two aesthetics. it was interesting how she took nature and the actual people to create a story that may have appeared to make no sense but was a deeper meaning behind how men look for women.

 The first artist I chose wasn't necessarily a particular artist but a company called LDSliving. They interviewed several different couples who have been married for decades and asked them for love advice. This was absolutely one of the directions I was going to go for within my project but along with advice interviewing only two subjects and allowing them to talk about each other in each other's presence and out of each others presence also.

The second artist I chose was Carlos Lascano.  He is an Argentina writer and director who specializes in animation and illustration. I chose him because once again it fell under the topic of love with an older generation. He was able to travel through the years with this couple and create a journey of their story separately and together.

            Sam is a British Filmmaker and Photographer from London, She exhibited at Venice Biennale 1997, winning the Illy Café Prize for Most Promising Young Artist, and receiving a Turner Prize nomination in 1998. Taylor-Johnson broke records for the biggest opening for a female director for her adaptation of best-selling novel FIFTY SHADES OF GREY (2015), she is well known in the community and has also directed NOWHERE BOY (2009), (a biographical drama about John Lennon’s adolescence) and Sundance-winning short film, LOVE YOU MORE (2008). As far as her photographs and other artwork go, she is Interested in the relationship between identity and appearance, her work examines the contradictions between our interior lives and our exterior presentations of the self.

He is originally from Queens, New York and is known as a leading artist in today's community while aiding in the establishment of video as a vital form of contemporary art. His work involves dealing with personal experiences- using the environment to surround the audience to give them an in-depth experience into his work. His works focus on universal human experiences—birth, death, the unfolding of consciousness—and have roots in both Eastern and Western, including spiritual traditions.

 The photographer that I choose was Elsa Garrison she is a New York-based sports photographer working with Getty images sport that she joined in 1998. She has been shooting sports photography for over 15+ years and has some of the most amazing shots that I have ever seen. Her pictures have been seen all over the world in things like The New York Times and ESPN The Magazine

 

The second photographer that I choose was Lynne Cameron she got into photography because of a picture that her great grandfather had where the photographer had photoshopped a picture of his older brother in who had died in the war and that made her fall in love with Photography. The reason she got into sports once again was because of her grandfather who loved sports and she was always around with a camera. I like her style because she focuses more on the portrait side of photography and that's a fresh take on the genre.
