Sam is a British Filmmaker and Photographer from London, She exhibited at Venice Biennale 1997, winning the Illy Café Prize for Most Promising Young Artist, and receiving a Turner Prize nomination in 1998. Taylor-Johnson broke records for the biggest opening for a female director for her adaptation of best-selling novel FIFTY SHADES OF GREY (2015), she is well known in the community and has also directed NOWHERE BOY (2009), (a biographical drama about John Lennon’s adolescence) and Sundance-winning short film, LOVE YOU MORE (2008). As far as her photographs and other artwork go, she is Interested in the relationship between identity and appearance, her work examines the contradictions between our interior lives and our exterior presentations of the self.
