T. Taylor Warren, known as the godfather of photographers in NASCAR. Warren was mostly known for his famous snapshot of the finish of the inaugural Daytona 500. Shot with a twin lens, this picture showed Lee Petty, Johnny Beauchamp and Joe Weatherly crossing the finish line three wide. This photography was what led to the final decision of the race. NASCAR fans since the early 1950s saw the sport through T. Taylor’s eyes. Warren was awarded the Henry T. McLemore Award by the International Motorsports Hall of Fame, he was the first photographer to win this award.
The second photographer was Jamey Price. Price is not just a NASCAR photographer. He photographs all kinds of motorsports and automotive sports. He also photographs professional swimming to horse racing, NFL games and collegiate sports. Along with looking at his photos I read over an interview that was provided. He talked a lot about how he got to where he is today and gives helpful tips and advice to help motivate photographers like me who want to begin working in the motorsport photography career.
