Philippe Halsman was a portrait photographer. Some of his most known photographs are of his subjects jumping. He had people from Marilyn Monroe to Richard Nixon jumping in his photographs. Many of his portraits are tightly copped photographs and his subjects often look very natural.

Louise Dahl-Wolfe was a photographer who was known for her fashion work with publications like Harper Bazaar. She worked with Diana Vreeland who was the editor-in-chief of Harpers Bazaar and Alexey Brodovitch who was the art director. Dahl-Wolfe has a good mixture of colored photographs and black and white. Her colored photos are very vibrant and usually have bright colors in them. She also helped turn fashion photography into an art form.
