Jennifer Armstrong (Week 5)

Rolling Stone to Christopher Street: 30 Years of Portraits

Mark Seliger was once the Rolling Stone’s chief photographer, he has shot many celebraites and public figures. He is now working on a series, On Christopher Street, which is home to the Stonewall Inn. That area is known for having many LGBTQ communities and internaltional symbols of gay pride. I find his series very inspiring and powerful. All of his photos are black and white which makes you focus on the subject matter more.

Fairy Tale from Russia

Frank Herfort, a german photographer has spent over a decade photographing different public spaces all through Russia. None of his photos are staged which is very unique. His photos show a sense of realness to them. They have a dream like effect to them.
