Sebastiao Salgado photographs both the beauty and the most difficult topics of photography. His photographs come from places where forgotten people live in constant struggle but he ennobles them. His photographs are dangerously beautiful, to the point that we might forget the way these people have been cast off. His Migrations body of work shows people moving across the world, often on foot. This was long before the Syrian conflict and the North African upheaval. My photographs I hope show people who might know that these sorts of conditions are never that far from around the corner. Tomorrow is not promised.
