Bill Cunningham was a street photographer based in NYC. He would capture candid moments, but in some photographs, he would get a reaction from the subjects. Cunningham would focus on people who were wearing fashionable outfits. He would try to focus on a specific fashion style and try to photograph people wearing similar outfits.

Vivian Maier was a photographer, but her work was not well known until after she died. Maier took street photography-style photographs in New York and Chicago. She also had a collection of self-portraits. Maiers ability to make great compositions and find interesting subjects make her photographs

feel like you are there when she took them.

  1. Great choices. Cunningham had a weekly fashion column in the NYT style section for years. There is a movie about him. Maier is amazing and a true street photographer. Cunningham only photographed fashion which is up your alley.
