Carole Glauber: Personal History
What really grabbed my attention in this series is the aesthetic that it provides. The story the series provides gives an example of what I was looking for to present. Personally, I originally didn't see the guidance that this series could provide. The picture representing the series wasn't one to attract my attention, however, it was what the series represented was what caught my attention. It wasn't the lighting or even the subject, it was the story that was told. The photos don't have a specific timeline that is followed, but it truly shows the story of life and growing up. When truly looking at it and looking at the subject, it shows the growth and the creation of what is trying to be told.
California Love: A Visual Mixtape
The reason I chose this series is because it excentuates the personality that I wish for my series to have. There seems not to be a main subject, but the main subject that is projected in this series, is what the state of California truly represents, as stated in the article. These photos that are chosen in the provided article are taken by multiple photographers from around the California area, and they don't represent a specific type of style or are specific photographers, but they represent the type of photography at one point during the timeline of California. In the subject of these photographs, there is wanting to show the romance, excitement, and joy of the state of California, and how it's shown. This series and the multiple photographers, gives a wide range of view on what you could interpret. From what I saw, the fun and joy in all of it, I saw the truth and the fun that could be presented and that's what I would like to strive for in my own series.
