I chose this photographer because she has an interesting backstory. She talks about how when she was younger, the forest was a place of simultaneous refuge and peril. I think it's common knowledge that the forest can be quite dangerous but can also be a place to escape and dream. As I was looking through her photos, it reminded me of the movie Bridge to Terabithia. Her photos display the peril but also seem very dreamlike.

I decided to choose this photographer because I wanted to see what kind of photos one might depict for childhood. For her work, she deals with memory and one's ability to accurately recall them. I'm all the time recalling past childhood memories. For this set of photos, she conceptually depicts her own childhood memories and her photos are incredible. Just looking at the first picture really drew me into her work.
