Todd Hido is an American photographer from Ohio but currently lives in San Fransisco, CA. His photographs often include night scenes from urban and suburban settings. In an interview, he said his work is done in secret, meaning the owners of the homes are not contacted, and he takes measures to make sure he goes unnoticed. He is often attracted by the light coming from a window or streetlight, and fog is an important element. I found his work inspirational because of how he sets the scene with incredible color and drama. He says that he enjoys the night because of what is naturally deletes from the scene, and the negative space it creates. I would love to make some scenes that look like this, but add a subject into the scene with some lighting to bring them out.
