Austin Rich Post #4

Han Youngsoo: Photographs of Seoul 1956–63. This series captures how Seoul, the capital of South Korea, was transformed by western styles after the end of the Korean War. Han had returned to Seoul after the conflict, and chose photography as a means to document the changes to the society. Even though society was still impoverished, it seems that western style had imposed itself on the population. The city would rapidly turn into a more modern version of itself after a war.
