Bill Vaccaro: The Magic Hedge. This series brings attention to Chicago's northern lake front, a reclaimed park area. This park was purposed (and disguised from) as a radar and missile silo station during the second world war. The park holds an eerie tale of two stationed soldiers deaths. It is said they can still be seen along the hedge some times. Now, this hedge is being reclaimed by nature. Covered in Japanese honeysuckles, they attract high numbers of migrating birds to rest. Printed as Ziatypes, these extended exposures attribute a haunting feeling in their images, while also showing that nature is reclaiming the spot.
